Happy Birthday Dave, hope you have a great day!!!
Congrats! I hope you have a great birthday. Thanks for being a good friend.
Happy Birthday, Dave!
Happy birthday.
Regarding the rage at the Grinch movie, is it because of the way the Whos treated the Grinch that you get so angry or because you just don't like Ron Howard's interpretation of the story?
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. Now Rob, in regards to the Grinch movie, my beef lies with the script. In the very beginning of the Dr. Suess story we are told:
"The Grinch hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season! Now, please don't ask why. No one quite knows the reason."
But the filmmakers asked "why?" anyway in an effort to pad a 30 minute story to 104 minutes. Now we have superfluous back-story about how the Grinch was mistreated as a kid. "Boo-hoo!"
Plus, the Whos' prosthetic snouts are ugly.
So which is worse...movie-makers depicting the Whos making the Grinch hate Christmas because they're so mean to him or the Joker killing Bruce Wayne's parents in the 1989 Batman (hope that wasn't a spoiler for anyone)?
Dave has also been known to have Sunny D come out his nose if someone swears at him. Happy B-lated.
PS We need to discuss the next Kup, eh.
I accepted The Joker killing Batman's parents before I really knew any better, so that twist has never really bothered me all that much.
Maybe the Grinch script should have featured a similar scene:
Grinch: You idiots! You made me! Remember? You mistreated me as a kid. That wasn't easy to get over, and don't think that I didn't try.
The Whos: You killed all our parents.
Grinch: What? What are you talking about?
The Whos: We made you, you made us first.
